My comment to you would be one of agreement. Intranet security concerns will outweigh privacy concerns. When consumers are brought into the mix....RatMan will become very vocal. Fowler has said that Intranet (business to business....bank to bank) will come first, while internet (bank to customer.....McDonalds to hungry person) will come later.

Fowler has said many times that the public will have a real problem with minutia....and believes that other companies are making a mistake by producing minutia platforms. I guess this is the leap of faith you must take. If Fowler is right, Mondex and Verifone will move to non-minutia based technology the moment that they see a backlash from the public. The F-3 will position IDX in the Internet market on a price and performance basis......making it easier for the players to anticipate RatMan.

On the intranet side, IDX has spent much time and money making sure that their product does what the end user wants it to do. When Fowler says that the Oracle pilots are development projects....and must be done right....he means it. There are different concerns in this area.......large amounts of money at stake.....and errors are not acceptable. They could bring down a company.

It is important to keep in mind that Intranet (Oracle) will come about well ahead of Internet (Mastercard).......So what the likes of Identicator does or does not do at this juncture may not mean very much.
