If the first big Oracle application is a healthcare network.....and 50,000 patient files end up posted on the "joke of the day" website......then Oracle and IDX has a problem......a big problem. Same goes for patient files needed by...but unable to be obtained by an emergency room physician.

If you listen to Fowler......Intranet applications are ahead of the Internet applications. This is important for those who look for $ and when it may be flowing into the industry.

I'm also fascinated by the network security issue.......I think high exposure breaches in network security will speed up any existing timeframe.....I think it is a ticking timebomb. Stories like the one on "Eye on America" are very significant for those who attempt to predict future trends.
