The absolute number of individual investors is actually quite small... I forget the number but I believe it was well under 10,000??? Anybody??? The actual number has to be much larger. Usually the listed number appears small since your brokerage is listed as the investor, not you; thus if several of us have our DELL shares at E*Trade, say, we get counted as one investor.
