Wow, what a view. Thanks. It looks like, at first blush, CIST and "Hoechst" (this is not technically correct, please see old posts to find the correct business structure for Biotech Australia Pty Ltd.) have cross-licensed to try to cover composition of matter and purification/source issues. While this would be great with respect to the Australian clinical trial (the one about which I know virtually nothing), I still don't see a reagent kit based on PAI-2 as a big seller. But one thing is really clear...... the relationship between CIST and Philip Auron (now, I believe, at Harvard Medical School, Patholgy) has been a long haul. It appears that the ongoing legal issues with IL-1beta didn't halt development activities with PAI-2. Given the recent court settlement and the bright, IMO, future for the business, I'll bet the relationship between the inventors and CIST is good. For all I know, however, they may be engaged in a war. What emerges is a picture of a tiny company where Galton and the attorneys have done a great job. Richard Dondero, V.P. Operations and Product Development, must have also done a good job; resources were very lean during litigation........ the company only has (6/30/96 10-K) five employees, and two of those are the COO/CFO/President (Galton) and an admin. asst.

So..... who holds all of these other patents? What?.... "That's what the *&%$# link is there for??" :-)
