Re "What CPU company is designing SLOW processors for the big volume market?" Why is Sony designing their nifty new notebook around the 200 P-MMX? IMO at some point manufacturers will divert money from the CPU to other more compelling features like a better screen etc. IMO Active-matrix + p200 MMX >= passive display + PII-266, for the average user.
