Time, Re: >"No, correction: "Jerry Sander with cash-out of his AMD stock options and bonuses will buy up Intel at low 60s"."<

Yea well even he's out of luck cause no matter how much money he has he'll never be able to buy Intel for 60bucks anymore. If you consider 68 low 60s he might make that but I think Intel is buying it in low 70s right now.

Intel may be priced right but it certainly is not overvalued. The market discounted slow growth by bringing the stock price down 27% from it's high of August 1997. Anybody waiting for 60s will be standing behind that Krulak guy who is waiting for more earnings disappointments. Well there isn't going to be any.

Craig Barrett said on CNN Money Line last night: "1998 will be one of those slow growth years for Intel" He didn't say they were going to lose or have no growth. He said over 10year period Intel has about 18% growth but it's 25% some years and lower others, 1998 will be lower.

He also said Intel's growth will come from servers, work station and high end pc's as well as components surrounding the cpu, chip set, graphic chips, network chips ect. And he said Intel will be very competitive at the lower end.

He said they knew for ten years Intel is at a unique level concerning monopoly laws and that every officer of the company was trained for the past 10years and they feel confident no laws were broken. They been investigate three times before and never were found to have broken the laws.

Barrett also said Asia has trouble spots that hard to predict but places link India and China were taking up the slack.

I would say it's not going to be the usual fly through the roof type investment but it is still a leader and growing.
