Larson-Davis Announces New Application for CrossCheck(TM) Technology
PROVO, Utah, May 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Larson-Davis Inc. (Nasdaq: LDII) announced today the successful completion of phase two of the testing and demonstration of its CrossCheck technology at the southwestern facility of a major oil refiner. During several days of performance testing and trials, CrossCheck was consistently able to determine the transition from one product to another as the products flowed through a petroleum pipeline. In all critical transitions, CrossCheck identified the change more quickly than other, more conventional methods. The testing has resulted in the installation of a number of systems at this facility for further final evaluation.
President and CEO Andrew Bebbington stated, "I am pleased with the successes shown by CrossCheck in this application. Although we have further work to do, the product concept has been proven. The patented and proprietary technology of CrossCheck accurately measures extremely high resistance values allowing it to be utilized to characterize literally hundreds of materials. We have already demonstrated extremely promising and interesting results with epoxies and paints, and now add petroleum products to our list. We are also continuing to explore other oil-based applications in different market areas. Over the coming months, we look forward to generating revenue from these and other applications."
COO Jeffrey Cohen added, "At this early stage, and until market research is carried out, we are unable to estimate the potential market size of this product. We intend to begin the roll out of this technology in the coming months once this analysis has been completed." CrossCheck is one of the three main platforms in Sensar's technology portfolio. The other two products, the Jaguar mass spectrometry line and the Supercritical Fluid Chromatograph (SFC), were both launched at the end of March 1998 and are now in production. |
