..Flapdoodle??? Now who's a fuddy-duddy? Okay, how about balderdash? tommyrot? applesauce? Or (and I'm getting really racy here): chicken droppings? cow patootie? Zen of Investing. I like that! (As long as I don't have to spend a lot of time meditating on my investments.) Anyway, I promise, I honest to goodness promise, that I will give Value Line a try along the lines you suggest. (By the way, Motley Fool uses a similar technique to identify investment candidates.) Not that I haven't had my own "proprietary method." I think you would agree that it has turned up some very, very solid companies (including ESV). The problem is -- they haven't been performing! Thanks again. jbe
