Jim,
If the Down's had the technology stolen from them why did they admit in legal settlements that it wasn't their technology? You are quoting legally disproven claims. We also had postings here from an NTN employee who stated the Down's were not even computer literate. Doesn't sound like the kind of guys who would be responsible for important wireless technology.
Sorry if some old INNN guys on Prodigy were hurting anyone's feelings here, but they were right about INNN's prospects. The CEO did have an ego, but with his prior success's, and INNN's startup prospects, he earned it.
TCI wanted to buy all of INNN but was temporarily kept at bay with a 'standstill' agreement, and offsetting large investors like NBC, and Gannett, etc. The "too big, too fast" story on INNN was orchestrated by TCI as a way of forcing INNN out of business. They were eventually dictating to INNN how to proceed. The Reg. S was a last ditch cash raising effort that blew up in their face as they tried to fend off TCI's deathgrip.
When you look at competitors, it is INNN and their competition that has gone out of business, not NTN's competitors. Remember, they have had the hospitality business all to themselves with little success. What happens if some large company decides there really is a business here somewhere, and comes in vs. NTN, who has no patents, no major backers, and no money? Suspect it won't be pretty.
