The last time the company split the stock was in mid-96. Knowing this management team (which is well-represented on the Board), they would not have split the stock at what will be under $18/share post-split unless they expect the earnings (and thus the stock price) to be very strong for the rest of the year. While I don't have any confirmation of it, I think the company will outperform current expectations by at
least .02 and there is a chance that they will preannounce an even stronger quarter in a similar manner to what happened in Q1. If you put together all of these relatively minor announcements and comments that have come out in the past month or two, the message you get is that business is really humming.

Also, I have to clarify something. The model year 2000 Japanese automobile I discussed a couple posts ago is for sale IN JAPAN. I know they are standard on many luxury models over here. But, Japan has tighter restrictions as far as auto equipment goes and GNTX has made significant progress in meeting those requirements. GNTX being able to produce a thin glass mirror was a big hurdle. So, the Japanese market may be opening up, despite the economic
problems over there.
