Hey stockbug, I suggest you take a breath, relax, and take a fresh look at earnings history, projections, market penetration, and product offerings.
wsrn.com for charts, earnings, news, etc.. pairgain.com for product information
1998 estimates are about .77 and 1999 are .99. Not great for 1998, thus the current price of about 20x earnings, but earnings growth projection is 28.5% for 1999 and should accelerate beyond that.
Sure, it would have been nice to see xDSL sales larger, but the Telcos have been dragging their feet, not PAIR. Other companies are now in the xDSL game. PAIR is still a solid company growing into a rapidly emerging market. You and I made a mistake buying into the future too soon. Your reasons weren't wrong; just the timing.
I would accumulate now for the next two years. Stop worrying about the short term. You'll miss the acceleration when it starts. Give it time. You'll be well rewarded.
I do have one concern, however: PAIR is looking for senior sales people. (I wonder if they lost key people or are expanding their efforts.) I hope they are not sitting without strong sales support right now... pairgain.com
