There's a lot of skepticism that Siebel 99 will actually be ready in Q4 (and what will its robustness be?).

Siebel does have a big challenge to meet a Q4 delivery of Siebel 99. However, I really don't think that it *matters* if it's delivered in Q4 or Q199. Siebel defined a very clear direction for the sebl/scop product set and gave the market delivery dates. By doing so, the sales organization can now focus on bringing in new business without dealing with nagging questions about sebl/scop product sets. They'll sell Siebel 99. Period.

I'm not concerned about the 'robustness' of S'99. It will be based on the S'98 architecture which is, by all accounts, very solid (I don't have S'98 in production yet, but have it in test). If sebl *is* forced to reduce the scope of S'99 to bring it to market, I expect that some of the scop migration utilities will be pushed out.
