Hi Sam,

Haven't read the ongoing discussion here. Just checked
in to let ya know that some of your research & remarks in
the past wk sent me to the Encyclopedia Britannica
looking for some facts, verification, etc.

The first item was your assertion that Rome made
Christianity the state religion. This was news to me. I'd
been taught in school that the Romans persecuted J.C.
You are right, but it wasn't until Constantine's reign,
the Edict of Milan in A.D. 3l4 is when it happened. In that
document he recognized christianity as a legal religion,
and by the end of the 4th Century, it was the state region
of the Roman Empire.

Second item was your statement that J.C. was a fictional
figure. I'd never heard this before. It really had me
curious to find the Brittanica's opinion. They state:
"Jesus of Nazareth was born in Judaea @ 6BC(how could he
be born 6 yrs before his birth??<ggg> & died by crucifixion
about AD 30."

Will continue in next post.
