<<in the past 100 months, the stock pulled back for 41 months, and went up for 59 months>> ed- I like your numbers, but in 1998 this is a different business in a different time. Compaq is not such a young company in the business trying to grow a larger market share. Win 98 doesn't require a new computer as win 95 did. The computer market is more segmented. There is no new "got to have" technologies to induce buying, and the $99 computers leave less of a profit margin, no matter how you cut it. Though, like you I hope to see $40 sometime soon, this is a new game that's being played.
