I recall I posted an article that predicted a future with a pc in every room...like a tv or phone. With the advent of sub-$1000 machines this could come. Yet remember, only 43% of Americans own a computer and the number is much lower worldwide. The need for computers is still out there, and I believe this technology boom is only just starting to take off.

The sub-$1000 computers are an interesting occurance. Companies don't make much money on them, yet all companies see the need to produce them. Apple just started, Gateway is next, and I hear Dell will release a $1200 computer soon.
