mike, i think the people with the real money (not me!) are so d*mn afraid of having an average beatr them that they only buy the stocks in the averages. stocks now have value in as much as they are part of an index. if you want your stocks to move then get them in an index. btw, i have the same problem as you in my ira. they performed beautifully last year but have been stagnant since.
