Miklosh, Though I prefer doing it myself, some of these funds might not be a bad choice. Especially if the manager knows what he or she is doing. The guy at Prudent Bear seems bright to me. The Rydex funds are indices shorters, and I see no reason to mess with them and their exorbitant expenses when you can play the Spy or MDY on your own much more cheaply. The Merrill fund has had a spectacular run, but it is too new to make a judgement call on yet. But those expenses could gag a maggot.

WS's thread keeps track of these. Not my cup of tea, but I can see the appeal is similar to a managed commodities account. Limited liability and time expended.
