Another down week for the semi-equips. This makes it 4 down weeks in a row, the longest string since I started keeping records for the week closing 4/25/97, almost 13 months ago. For the 4 weeks total, the loss is 21 percent for the group. The group is only 5 percent above its low point set on 12/12/97, going all the way back to 4/25/97. This was the worst week of the 4 with a loss of 7 percent. Only 1 stock went up, 2 stayed the same and 38 went down. There is momentum going now - hopefully, it will turn around next week. PLAB is the amazing one! It closed at 37.06 on 5/1. Today it closed at 26.81, a loss of 28 percent in 21 days. On 5/1, it was the only one of the 41 stocks that was above its 1995 and 1997 high. It had "clear sailing", no "overhead supply". Technically it was in a superb position. What's going on anyway???
