Thank you, Winer, for the Tobin-EIS update. However, I find Tobn's comment:
<<. what the public should draw from the conclusion today is that the environmental review process has integrity, that the panel is working, it's doing its job, it is not prepared to accept at face value a report notwithstanding the effort and the cost and the complexity that's gone into it, that they are asking additional questions.>>
very manipulative. The esteemed Premier of NF should not be so arrogant as to tell "the public" how to conclude anything.
As an INCO shareholder, I find Tobin's comments to be condescending and very paternal. Yeah, I don't like INCO's senior management very much, but I find them more palatable than the esteemed Mr. Tobin and the government of NF. I'm still hoping for a Labrador revolt/secession … la the NWT or even USA, (yeah I'm a Yank).
If Indonesian can kick Suharto out of office, surely Labrador can kick Tobin and cohorts back to their island realm. Nain or Goose Bay would make an excellent provincial capital, IMNSHO. Unfortuneately, mining world-class orebodies is very dependent upon political agendas in spite of grade and tonnage.
Good Luck, T. |
