Does LOW own Home Quarters(HQ) Stores? I live near St. Louis and until recently we only had HQ. For the past year, Home Depot is aggressively taking on the St. Louis market. I work near the newest HD location and it is only a block away from HQ. I also pass another new HD on my commute to and from work. It is only a mile away from another HQ. This seems to be a repeating pattern in the St. Louis area. I know of at least two additional HD's within the past year are so. Each are within a mile or two of HQ. I think that takes a lot of guts from HD and a strong belief in what they are doing. I've shopped at both, and it seems that HD is more customer friendly and has lower prices than HQ. Any thoughts?
