I was being sarcastic when I said ,( So why do we need DF-144? Maybe exxon knows.) When I spoke of low octane gas, I have a work vehicle in which it is recommended to use a gas with an octane rating of 91, anytime I use 87 and even 89 rated octane my engine gets a knocking sound which is caused by the lower octane level gas and this knocking in the engine can cause premature engine damage. Now with my car, an 87 octane is all that is recommend.

Here is some of Gabards DD that talks about the average octane rating of gas ( before blending), having an octane of 65 and how DF-144 will give the rating of 87 to 93 octane. "DF-144 is sold to refiners to add to their average 65 octane material thereby producing a blended gasoline of 87 to 93 octane."

I do believe that the 87 to 93 octane ratings are the recommended levels by most car manufacturers. . Hmmmmm, I wonder how my work vehicle would run on a gas with the octane rating of 65?

Now if the car manufacturers use engines are made to use gas with the recommended octane levels between 87 and 93 and MTBE is needing to be replaced because of the different problems it is causing. Then maybe this is why Exxon is testing the DF-144. So why do we need DF-114? Maybe Exxon knows.......

Go baby go, arriba
