Once more, I'm going to ask that we keep this discussion civil.
Since you are not paying for your connectivity, I can understand why you don't value price/performance as much as I do. I believe that, given a true choice, even corporate beancounters will see the value of Autobahn's offering.
Re: Coverage - When I said coverage is in the eye of the beholder, I meant that different people value coverage options differently. Because I rarely leave the Seattle metro area (and then usually I'm travelling to the Bay area), MCOM's limited coverage is not a problem for me. If you don't live in one of MCOM's service areas, then your perspective will be different. The fact remains that there is _currently_ no nationwide (or worldwide) data connectivity service that has affordable unlimited access.
I understand that MCOM continues to make progress in the area of acquiring access to lightpoles in the NYC and Chicago area. As soon as Autobahn is in beta, I expect those areas to be added in short order.
Re: Marketing. You cited yourself as an example of great CDPD "customer targetting", yet you then admitted that you are only using equipment provided by and paid for by your employer. Can you explain this contradiction? MCOM is not (currently) about marketing to large corporations - it's products and services target the retail mass market.
As an off topic side note: Why would you _want_ four cell phones? Seriously.
You also refer to CDPD being offered as part of a entire corporate telecom package. Sound to me like another example of an inferior product (CDPD) being bundled with a monopolistic product (telecom services). I would not cite this as an example of a "marketing" success.
In a prior post you said "With the limited coverage/high speed option, you're going after the landline market." This statement is flat wrong. Do you own a laptop? Even within my own house, I don't want my laptop tied to a phoneline. And the ability to move between home, work, and hobbies without disconnecting is a god-send.
Finally, can you dispell my nagging suspicion that you work for Bell Atlantic Mobile? Call me paranoid, but I'm having a hard time understanding why you are posting on this thread.
(And, no, I don't work for MCOM - I just use their products and recommend them to everyone I meet.)
