Just reading the 25th Anniv issue of Data Communications...one writer predicts that the voice over IP market for service providers will be in the $90 billion range in the not too distant future. The key to all this is to use the proper "gateway," the device that translates between the conventional circuit-switched into a packet switched connection. And we have been told that DGIV is currently installing it's own gateway (although I am surprised they are not just buying one from the group of 20 or so companies that specialize in this equipment). Further, the article states that the cost to a carrier to deliver a voice call over circuit switched network is 6 cents per minute versus 1 to 2 cents over IP. Looks Good!

Now Everyone....IT IS A HOLIDAY WEEKEND. GET OFF OF HERE AND HEAD FOR A POOL OR BEACH!
