That's true Joseph, creditors like to be paid cash, not in stock. This is an interesting development. Often, and soon after shares for debt are issued, developments may transpire that will increase the share price, (new properties, pp). The company then either buys back the shares for cash as the shareprice increases, or allows the sale of these shares by the creditor. You are right, it depends on the relationship of the two.
