Off Topic: Troubleshooting a Mac problem and wondered if any of you had any ideas? Or possible relevant links? When the Maccer tries to change the name of a folder the cursor moves to a different folder after a few characters are typed -- it's impossible to complete the name of a folder in the Finder. This doesn't happen in other applications. I was able to type a letter in Word without a problem.

There was a virus called WM or XL Macro in this Mac but I've repaired the infected files, and other Macs in the office which had the same virus don't show this folder re-name problem. File Sharing doesn't seem to matter (on or off), which I bring up since sometimes File Sharing has incapacitated the ability to change the names of drives and such.

I've reinstalled System Software and I've changed the keyboard and mouse. Any other ideas before I have to do a clean System install, which will cost several hours?

Thanks!
Linda
