1962 vs. 1998

Today's New York Times has an article on the 1962 vs. 1998 equity markets. They talk in generalizations and lack specifics. We can do better. Can anyone post the pertinent statistics of the 1962 market and compare them with the 1998 market to give any inferences as to what the future may or may not hold.

1. What are the comparable inflation rates?
2. What are the pe ratios of the S&P 500?
3. How many advisors were bullish vs. bearish?
4. What percentage of people were invested in equities?
5. What inflection points indicated that the 1962 market was about to turn?
6. What was the growth rates in the money supplies?

Well you get the picture.

Hey, this board is hopping tonight!
