What role does the cellular infrastructure play in Boomerang? Does the cellular operator need to install any new equipment to make Boomerang work? There certainly are many potential providers of cellular based position location equipment (about 20 I believe) but they all require an investment by the cellular operator. I am not aware that any have proposed using their technology for the theft recovery application. I am interested because I work in the field of Intelligent Transportation Systems....ITS.
