Sam, I too am worried about the religious right taking over America, particularly the militia movement. Strangely enough, a lot of views typical of the militia movement are expressed all over SI. You definitely put a different spin on it than I do, with the waitress and Bill Gates, but it is a very important concern.
Curiously, the religious right, and particularly Dr. James Dobson, are making a strong play for control of the Republican party. If they are successful I believe the Democrats will stay in power in most states, because most Americans who are not members of the religious right are afraid of them.
