BIG EYE, I trade with Webstreet. Although 99% of penny stocks under $2.00 must be called in to a broker, the trade is only $14.95. They have waived their .01/share charge on stocks under $2.00 forever. This is much better than Schwab who I was with. They charged $30.00/1,000 shares no matter what the price. As you can see, that .01/share (and some are .03/share) charge on any size trade can make the trade useless to you if you want to be in and out with a couple of hundred bucks. Webstreet is the only broker I know of that charges a flat $14.95 for trades on stocks under $2.00, and FREE if you trade on a stock in a 1,000 shares or more over $2.00. Of course, any trade from 1 - 999 shares is $14.95. If you can't trade through the website for some reason (as in the case of many penny-stocks under $2.00) and you must call a broker, the charge is always only $14.95. On trades you make where you call a broker (where you COULD have traded them through the website), the charge is $24.95. I'm pretty happy with them so far if they could just keep their dynamically refreshing quote-server up and running. Soon you will be able to dial in directly to their server and not have to put up with the traffic of the web. Check them out at www.webstreet.com This company is one of the best for daytrading (except for SOES firms) you'll find.
