What I have is a Farallon Netopia ISDN modem. It has an RS-232 serial interface and two analog phone ports.

It was very nice having two phone numbers. They worked independently of one another. The computer could use both lines and the modem would still arbitrate voice & fax calls. I could be on the computer on line and just pick up the phone and call, or the phone might ring if someone called me. If someone sent a fax, since one of the analog phone ports went to my faxmodem, I just hit a keyboard command to initiate fax receive if it wasn't already set to auto answer. Several times I was on the internet and received a fax at the same, and I could not tell a difference in speed.

Right now when I'm online, I'm isolated. And I'm online quite a lot.

Later,
HerbVic
