Taiwanese Gangsters Smuggle Viagra TAIPEI, Taiwan (AP) -- Gangsters are smuggling the impotency drug Viagra from the United States and selling it primarily to gigolos and male hosts who entertain female customers at karaoke bars, a newspaper reports. The drug is being sold on the black market for more than 2,000 Taiwan dollars ($60) a dose, or about six times the U.S. selling price, the United Daily News reported Sunday. And the profits will continue to roll in because health authorities in Taiwan aren't expected to give legal approval to Viagra sales for at least another six months, the paper said. A variety of virility pills and tonics concocted from traditional Chinese herbal recipes are sold in Taiwan, and certain foods and wild animal parts are consumed in the belief they boost male sexual performance.
