Well wherever the heck you live it isn't like our town. My husband and other engineers volunteer all the time in the schools to set up and upgrade computers. We have helped in the parks at the request of the park department. You may live in a place that doesn't allow volunteers but I don't. And my guess is most people here don't. And even if you couldn't rake leaves if you called the volunteer coordinator in your area (and I bet even your poor pathetic town has one) you will find numerous opportunities available. Before you respond to this post call a school, your Parks and Rec and your volunteer center and tell me if at least one of those three does not have volunteer positions available.
