Brad,
I'm aware of RNWK's position in the streaming media market. Doesn't MSFT currently have a competing product though in Netshow?
I'm very interested in the value chain developing in streaming video. Is this market predicted to grow at a tornado pace in the next year or two?
Please disregard the following if it looks like hype:
I currently own a stock that seems to be very well placed in the streaming video industry segment. It's called Sigma Designs (SIGM) and seems to have the only decoder board available for streaming video over the internet and corporate intranets. Partners include Microsoft, Packet Engines, Cisco, First Virtual, Compaq, DEC, and a variety of others. All of these companies will be pushing SIGM's product, the Netstream 2, on their customers as the market takes shape. As near as I can tell, the company could be becoming a gorilla in the market place depending on the proprietary architecture of the Netstream 2 and the switching costs involved.
I'm looking for criticism of the company and definitely am not trying to drum up a quick buck for the poor stock price. Anyone out there have any info about the value chain of this product?
