I'm currently following around 1050 issues

It's a very eclectic mix that spans the range from pennydom to the Dow. It continues to grow but one of the things that I believe is important in using OT is to know the story for each stock you follow. Because of my background (computers) my list tends to be tech-weighted but I try to follow a broad mix of issues. I haven't done an analysis but I'd guess I'm 50% NASDAQ, 40% NYSE, 5% AMEX and 5% OTC:BB.

I think it's more important to really get to know the stocks you do follow than to strive to follow as many stocks as possible. One thing I have noticed is that OT does well on stocks that have a stable "personality" but struggles on stocks that undergo significant personality changes until the new personality stabilizes. Some of this is due to the nature of the particular stock but I suspect a lot has to do with underlying sector rotations. That's one of the areas I'd like to try to get a better handle on. I don't have the horsepower to undertake such studies right now, but once I junk this tired P133 for a new Win98 screamer I may delve into this a bit deeper. Right now OT is working on paying for the new system. :)
