>>Westell = TI DSP Lucent = ?? DSP, who else has a DSP for ADSL.Heavy.
ADI/Aware, Globespan...since it's pretty clear Lucent isn't deploying CAP that leaves ADI
The Lucent-Westell connection extends the integration effort to many other vendors, as well, including the digital-signal-processor suppliers that each is partnered with and parties to other alliances.
Bill; This is so vague it's impossible to draw any conclusions, it reads like a legal document. Lucent has several partners including ADI/Aware. It could be as simple as stating that Westell/Lucent ADSL solution for the 5ESS will be in line with industry standards, making it interoperable with the ADI/Aware DSP. On the other hand we know WildWire line uses ADI/Aware chipset, another interpretation could be that SuperVision DSLAM (TXN) isn't part of any current Lucent platform. I suspected the SuperVision DSLAM wasn't part of the current AnyMedia platform when I saw the LU marketing language was left out of the DSLAM pr. Maybe Lucent still plans to use the SuperVision DSLAM later in the year...still there was no mention of this in the cc. I get the impression that Lucent is working on several fronts at once, could be that SuperVision platform is one of them. It would be nice to have Lucent deploying Westell end to end, if not they still have CPE, SLC and the 5ESS. Not bad.
The stock price is pretty depressing, it doesn't seem to be confined to Westell though, PAIR down 20% in a couple of weeks, AWRE also weak. Like Hal mentioned, maybe we'll hear something positive from SuperComm. Dave
