With ADSL service (offering a 100x increase over 56K) already available in some parts of the country, it makes little sense to spend up for a 56K modem if you're getting a 33.6 for free. In any case, what's critical is the built in high speed 100BT ethernet.

Actually we have ADSL and ATM available here. Problem is, price is much higher. However my ISP charges me the same for hour regardless if I use 56K or 33.6. Which one do you think people here want?

C'mon, stop accentuating the negative.

I call them as I see them. If you recall, I supported the lack of floppy disk as I considered it more or less a non-issue. The 33.6 modem for an internet computer, on the other hand, is plain idiocy.

Everybody and their aunt says so.
