Thank you for your response. First, I will like you to answer a question about what is your definition of innovation.
2) Secondly, after you define your understanding of innovation, pls tell me how do you come to the conclusion that Microsoft never innovate, and that Microsoft can not compete.. Why Micorsoft can not compete with so many first class programmers ? Are they all fools ? Do you think NSCP can innovate and compete ? based on your definition of innovation.
3) What is your definition of "Monopoly" ? My definition of monopoly is a company held 100% of the market of special products, and no competitors in the market of similar products, or there is no way for the competitors to be exposed in the market place. Like the early oil and gas industry, only one single company control the pipe lines which are used to send oils / gas to a certain area, as a result of that, other competitors had no exposures of their products in that special areas as a result of no pipe line systems available to send their products to that special areas. Now my question to you is : Besides the win95, 98 ...etc , did the consumers have a choice to choose other OS from other companies ? Besides the explorer, can the consumers download the navigators from the internet ? Or, besides being delivered together with win98, did NSCP have other channels to have its products being exposed in the market place ?
Did Microsoft have the right to continue improve its products ? So does NSCP ?
To satisfy the doj's requirement of justice , will NSCP also deliver its own navigator together with third parties' browsers ? If NSCP won't, then why should Microsoft?
If you can't answer the above questions, then my last question to you is why Microsoft is "monopoly" of the OS market ? under the following business environment: 1) The consumers had a choice of third parties of OS, and it is exposed in the market place and it is easily available. 2) The consumers can easily download the navigator from the internet if they think Navigator is a better product, then what is wrong for Microsoft to integrate its own Explorer with Win 98 as one single product ? If that is wrong, then in the future, NSCP should not continue to improve its own product at all, eventhough it won't hurt the availability of its competitors' products to the market place.
3) What is wrong that Microsoft has 95% of the world OS market ? Did Microsoft ever prohibit the products of its competitors to be exposed in the market place ? It is all the choice of consumers based on performance / price. If you want to blame that Microsoft has 95% of the world OS market, it is the consumers that you should blame.
4) As to who invent the browser, it really did not matter at all. Think about the cars, the Japanese did not invent the car, but they are manufacturing the best cars in the world. GE did not invent the light, but it is GE who are now providing the best light bulbs in the US market. Intel did not invent the CPU, but it is INTEL who continues to improve the CPU and make what it is today.
Again, thank you for your response, and I think everyone on this thread had equal right to express his ideas on this thread, but the condition is if you want to express, you should respect other people's right to express, that is what we call freedom of expression, and free debate, so pls no rude words !!!!!! |
