>>Dell is to PCs as HP is to Printers<<

That is a gray area. Although HP is strong in desktop printers, it is actually not making any money (or not very much) with each printer sold. However HP is making a killing on the after-sale parts like toners, etc. As Time Traveler has come to believe Dell has been very profitable with high growth rate making and selling high quality PCs, not those cheap, unprofitable, and garbage ones.

As far as K6-2 goes, Time Traveler has not seen any official reviews on it. Last year in the Microprocessor Forum, K6/3D supposed to have an extension of MMX in which AMD planned to abandon when Intel's MMX2 comes out. That means K6-2's 3D stuff is an evolutionary dead end. That chip was designed for all-star game players like Maxwell to blast away more mutant Space Aliens more efficiently (check out Elmer's posts).

Anyway, we shall see in a week or so at the debut of K6-2.
