re: Y2K medical concerns -- Colloidal Silver is a total crock

Think we all need to keep calm and rational if panic ensues, otherwise we will be taken advantage of. With the coming of a potential catastrophe, expect some people to take advantage.

A while ago, I did some surfing at .edu sites about colloidal minerals. My conclusion was that the scientific medical community could find no evidence of their alleged positive affects. Think it would be a good idea to do some reading from non-health-marketing sources before purchasing colloidal silver.

Excerpts:

may I suggest that you
consider Colloidal Silver? C.S. is historically known to be
effective against over 650 pathogens, so when antibiotic
medicine is no longer available, C.S. will serve a very good
purpose.

The usual sort of claim from snake oil salesmen.

Dr. Bill Schenker has written extensively on C.S. and
you can read his posts at . Look under General Discussion and
follow the thread to Y2k Colloidal Silver III, date 3/24/98.

The usual reference to a single individual/guru instead of a controlled, referreed study published in a reputable journal.

We are now marketing the improved C.S. 'genny' designed and
tested by Bill Schenker, at half the price of earlier designs.

Ah yes, the pitch.

With
this pocket size, bat operated 'genny' you can produce all the
C.S. needed from nothing but distilled water.

Wow. This is an unusual "violates the laws of physics" claim. Some sort of alchemy device transforming H2O into Ag!
