Papillon: Welcome to the Coffee Shop and thank you very much for your comments it is much appreciated.Sorry to hear that you missed the South during your many visits but we won't hold that against you.<gg> I have no idea whether you expect any comment from me or you just wanted to say your piece but I'll be remiss if I didn't not attempt to say something in response to some of the points you made.So here it goes. India's gloating ad nauseam. Agreed but I don't know which was worse India's gloating or the Western arrogance and condescending remarks,my jury is still out on that one. 'Indian mind' & Inferiority complex et al. I have to plead ignorance on this but I hope some expert like that guy Murray of the 'Bell Curve' fame come to our rescue here and explain to us laymen about Indian Mind,Asian Value,Western ethics,inferiority/Superiority/Reverse Superiority complex, etc so that we may have a better understanding of these complex issues. An Exaggerating India Perhaps so and a 'nuclear claim' by India might be a bluff for all I know. I'll have to check the CIA fact sheet on India to clarify this issue. Starving & Illiterate India. I know some 19% of the 950 million people in the country below the poverty-line and some 400 or so million people are illiterate.I don't think the whole country is starving. Should they therefore be the whipping boy of the rest of the world and depend on others for help in time of war and peace???? Is that what you are saying??? India as a world 'power' is a laughable concept. Perhaps to the outside world it might be and they are certainly entitled to their opinion I am sure. India's contribution to science Vedic or otherwise is balloney I do not know this as I am not an expert on the history of Science. India's claim to any scientific achievement either in the past of present could be exaggerated,non existent or even bogus as the basis for all scientific knowledge might have come from the west,but I am not sure for the reason mentioned above. BJP & 'Hindutva' Since I am not a 'party member' of any kind either here or there I can not comment on their intentions but 'Hindutva' according to BJP dicta only means 'cultural nationalism' and not a Hindu vs the rest of them,issue. Negative comments about India are frowned upon in India. Certainly not here on this thread,any and all opinions are welcome bet it the good,the bad or the ugly. Also I don't think negative comments about any country would go down unchallenged in any country as I don't think this phenomenon is peculiar to India. I sincerely hope you come and visit the Coffee House as often as possible. Hope to see you again.
