I hope someone here will correct me, if the MM's lower the bid on Tuesday and lots of people put in market orders, those orders by law have to be filled on Tuesday. Therefore if no one is willing to sell the MM has to up the bid/ask until someone will sell the stock to be able to fill the market order.

But at the end of the day the MM can walk the stock back to whatever he wants, no? How can we stop these monsters? Sometimes I think they can even get around the name change of a company if they have shorted.

Excuse my negativity, I guess I'm playing devil's advocate hoping to find answers. Someone please supply them!

Thanks in advance.

Pat
