Aleta, have you ever been unjustly accused of something? Have you ever been accused of something that is so complicated that an elongated response would be necessary?
Investors have been calling the company virtually every single day. You have yourself. Although I note that it took you a long time to finally contact the new investor relations firm. When you did, you came onto this thread and reported your most satisfactory experience with them.
Investors would love to ask tough questions--and, yes, even negative ones. But there is no room to do this, when such information would be interspersed among the many negative comments that continually pollute--yes, "pollute," because such comments aren't objectively positioned.
Jon Tara occassionally offers some good cautioning remarks, but his good stuff gets ruined when he falls back into parroting what Wired said: anti-Hayton this; anti-Hayton that, Zulu comes from Scamville, whatever, etc., etc., blah-blah-blah. And then he completely throws thwarts any validity of his remarks when he comes out of nowhere and says there's an investigation, when there isn't one.
Now, wouldn't it be nice if we could respond to the "good stuff" that Jon occassionally forwards into the discussion? But we can't. There are too many folks--the David Sirks, Other Chaps and Fred sure has a muttering here and there--who've got the mudpie mentality. They can't resist the "Titanic" comparisons--maybe the advertising was too good for the movie!
This I know. There is constant communication to the company and this communication extends all over the nation. I'm constantly getting private communications from folks who've contacted the company. Truth be known, there is so much confusion on the public thread, I've found the private discussions are the most reliable for me: One is a battle zone; the other is very good DD-type stuff. Believe me, I don't get the strength of my position from the public thread.
So please stop your presumptions. People are doing the work, and it's good work. This is why I try to cross reference stuff that's out on Yahoo to here, and vice versa? I update and take from the AOL thread as well. Some of us are in more than one place, and we have our respective connections within each of these discussion threads. In short, the world is bigger than SI.
Mow, regarding Hayton? I'm not going to condemn somebody until I fully know both sides of the story. We only have one side. You might note that several of us speak of his name. It's not like we try to hide him or anything like that. I'm sure he will respond when he--not you or I--feel the time is appropriate to do so.
Should we take up a collection and pay for a Lexus legal software search so that we can determine what his argument, in his defense, was in those past legal proceedings? I've asked many of the people who are so quick to blast him to do such a search. They haven't. That bunch would rather sucker punch him on the other cheek. Why?
Were I you, I'd direct the criticisms you've just presented to the other side of the debate here. But since you haven't bought yet--so far as I know--they are your allies and not us. Once you've made your purchase of Zulu or ESVS shares, I'm sure you'll see things differently.
So much for my turn at the soapbox. I actually came on today, thinking it was going to be a dead thread. I wanted to do some research searches on Metacrawler and come up with some new stuff and maybe continue cross postings from other threads. But look how my time got spent. And it all began with Jon Tara's slur. So these are your answers. |
