Yes, that was my reaction to what I could find out. Recordable DVD will be the thing, for sure. This might just be a $625 short term solution. I don't even mind the tape price. It does seem a shame to have a tape drive with what ( is it 14 gig ) and not be able to store data. If they would just get off their tails and come out with ANY kind of info about the high speed data ports. Actually I'd go for something that would interface with windows, allow time shift assignment with a few mouse clicks etc. But I know better. Got to be patient with technology. I'd hoped someone out there was using one and would maybe comment pro or con. The JVC HM DSR100 anyone? Thanks Marc, Bret P
