What Is Silicon Investor Doing To Us ..... Does Any One Care?

1) Prior to a 10 day trip out-of-state that ended yesterday, I wrote to SI to complain that the new "Recent News" section was not nearly as good as it was previously. The "previous" news section posted or pointed to "many" articles in which, Sun Microsystems - for example - was "mentioned." The "new" news service only points to "feature" articles - and typically press releases - about Sun Microsystems. The result is news that is edited too closely, which is very limiting, in terms of being aware of important news stories that impact a specific company - in this case, Sun Microsystems. SI wrote back to me on May 13 that this would be reviewed with the SI founders. Nothing further from SI to date.

2) For the 10 days I was away, about 125 unread messages built up on this thread. While reading them, I noticed immediately, that the SI server speed has slowed to a crawl - more like my 28.8 modem than the cable modem I have. I have not noticed this slowness within any other URL location that I view regularly.

3) The only other change by SI recently - and I did not notice exactly when they made the addition - is the multiple color graphic advertisements. I do not object to the "adds" as long as the server speed is reasonable and it is not at all reasonable now.

Does anyone else have any thoughts or observations? I will forward a copy of this note directly to SI. Please contact them yourself if you are not pleased with the decline in service quality.
