We are in complete agreement in regards to the entertainment value of trading for profit, yes it is a blast.
I guess I should point out that my strategy and purpose are probably different from Brenda's. But I have never heard of her--what exactly is her strategy anyway. But I'll be fair, never made a million, probably never will. However with some luck and courage I have made a sum of money in the last five months on par with a decent salary. Of course the percentage gain is important, I would guess that 350% in five months is not bad, hehe.
Anyway, to more directly address one of your points ("The thrill comes from making money not having it!") for the true gambler I suspect this is true, maybe Brenda has some terrific skill than means she is not so much a gambler anymore, even better. But for a great number of us here on SI, there are other strategies and goals. I haven't yet written up an elegant enough description of my strategy and goal, but I will soon post it on my lonely thread: Subject 16411
Maybe I will follow you or Brenda over to the threads you most frequent, maybe I'll see some ideas I agree with and stocks that I like, but I suspect we are very different people--the million bucks probably accounting for a lot of it:-)
For now, no more cluttering up the braggarts thread, maybe if Tuesday goes well I'll be back (fingers crossed). ("Who needs a boat?")--I'd love to have a boat moored in Puget Sound. I'd learn to sail and do some fishing.
