HAPPY_HAPPY_

I am very pleased to report that the hundreds of get well messages-and prayers seem to have worked. I returned home from a rehabilitation facility on 18 May. You can imagine my and my family and friends
glee. Of course I was pleased also. I still have a few problems to work out with my physical therapist and visiting nurses who collectively attack me every morning. In a few months I expect to be back on the golf course.

To the hundreds of readers of this site who sent E-mails-believe me-they were a great morale booster during the worst of this experience.Even though I have not met most of you face to face it was quite heart warming.

Thanks to all. I have over 1200 e-mails-many from clients to wade through to see what's doing in the outside world. So I'll have plenty to do during this recovery period.

While I was in a coma (6 weeks) a stock I invested in went bananas. I heard about this company (Yurie Systems) from some friends who work at the Defense Information Systems Agency ( formerly the Defense Comminications Agency) about there new technology which permits live video to be accommodated via ATM along with voice and data. I bought in below $10.In the large pile of correspondence I found awaiting my attention was a tender offer from Lucent to buy all outstanding shares of Yurie for $35 per share. They only reason I brimg this to your attention is to alert you to the video conferencing capability inherent in this system.I'm told that DISA will convert all their world wide and tactical systems to this product. It cost Lucent $1.1 Billion to exercise the tender but I think this was quite cheap. Mr. Lee tyhe founder of Yurie is an immigrantt from Korea. When he got a green card he went to work at a Macdonalds-entered night school and then brought his family to the U.S. He founded his company (named after his daughter-Yurie0 An was off to the races. It is a remarkable story. Look at the Yurie web site for more info. I believe,
Lucent will prove to be a very tough compeitor in the video conferencing market place.conferencing

Again my many thanks to all who expressed their concern What an experience from 16 December l996 till 18 May l998!!!Guess The man in the sky just did'nt want me quite yet.
