Does anyone know any more details about this new chat service ETrade is offering? I saw a press story about it last week. It sounds like a poor man's Silicon Investor. They are only offering it now to friends & relatives of EGRP employees, but plan to open it up to everyone later. Is it me, or does this sound like a lawsuit waiting to happen? How did these jokers get the regulatory OK from the NASD & SEC to try this bold maneuver? It seems like an inherent conflict of interest. ETrade's policy is not to recommend individual stocks, and yet they are going to open up a chat room with their name on it, where anyone can go on and say anything they want? This announcement, along with their new promotion of "3 Free Trades if you open an account!" smacks of desperation to me. Still short EGRP and holding. Bikergirl.
