Several items. First, where are you on SI when you are seeing ads? There are no ads, banners or otherwise that 'paid' members have to look at when viewing threads. IF you link in via talk.techstocks.com you will never see an ad. If you link in via the 'general public' server, then you will see ads. Second, the slowness. I think there has been a slowdown in several of the internet backbone circuits over the holiday weekend. The only way to test this is to run PING or Tracerte utilities and have them point at talk.techstocks.com or whatever IP address or URL you are using to access SI. You may find that you are having packet loss or that one the intermediate links that your connection has to transverse is having loading problems (indicated by long delay times at the node with a problem). If you find either of these conditions, then a note or call to your ISP is in order. They can either fix or reroute around the trouble nodes. I only mention this because I have been on all weekend and, for once, have not seen an noticeable delay when accessing talk.techstocks.com. Ben A.
