Hi Freddy, Happy Memorial Day! You see, that's where you just don't understand me at all! It doesn't bother or threaten me at all to listen to others or read their opinions and arguments. The Didache was very interesting and I enjoyed hearing about it. It sounds like a very civilized document. I understand it was created as a kind of handbook for new converts. I am not personally in favor of abortion, and have no political ax to grind. The only thing I hate is when people get mad, mean, personal,or won't listen to each other. Which seems to happen a lot around here Our point was that you were not admitting that the issue has been as difficult a one for the Christian Church as it has for everyone else. We were just making sure you didn't get away with anything--(and you were trying! You were setting up that US against THEM thing that completely destroys any chance of real sharing and understanding or knowledge of historical truth.) The Didache said one thing, Augustine another, Jerome another ---The church has had the same arguments about life of the mother, when does life actually begin, when does the soul enter the body....as all moral, conscientious people who are trying to come to the right decisions. That's all I was saying anyway. I do agree with you about the vegetable souls, but be fair, some of those are wearing little crosses around their necks. |
