I am trying to figure out how this is true. Are you saying that you increase the circumferance of the circle by 1 inch? If this is the case, I don't think you would increace the diameter of the circle by that great a degree. Or is it because you are now changing the shape of the circumference that adds the large degree of slack? (Now it is more of an elipse)

I am sure you are correct but do you have the arithmetic formula that proves it.
